It is Well With Your Soul

Updated: Apr 26

You are not here to suffer. You're here to remember who you truly are. Keanu Reeves said that "If you have been brutally broken, but still have the courage to be gentle to other living beings, then you're a badass with the heart of an angel."

This blog post article was inspired by the song that is below. Listen to the song when you are alone, and pump up the volume: It's a powerful meditation. I have linked the lyrics to my articles on the subjects that are in the song.

All is well with your soul

'Amen (It is well)' with David Onka and Lorie Ladd:

The lyrics are below:

Amen (It is well) with David Onka and Lorie Ladd:

One of the most powerful things

That you can remember right now

Is that you chose to be here in this human experience

Courageously

Into this most miraculous and chaotic planet

You are not here to suffer

You're here to remember

The soul that you are

And all the emotion and thought that you will feel and think

In between the beginning (it is well with your soul) and the end

Of this one precious life

It is well with your soul

When I'm down and out and no one to hold

In the still of the night when sorrow calls

When chaos on my mind starts to settle in

I'd just close my eyes and remember

And it's well with my soul (amen), amen

It's well with my soul (amen), yeah, amen

It's well with my soul (amen)

It is well with my soul (amen), yeah, amen

What about dissolve the external noise

Come back home, it's too loud out there

That it is well with your soul (amen), yeah, amen

It's well with your soul (amen), yeah, amen

It's well with my soul (amen)

It's well with my soul (amen), my soul, amen

Remember

You chose to be here courageously

It's well with my soul (it is well)

It's well with my soul (with your soul)

It's well with my, with my soul

With my soul

Remember

Yeah! (Amen)It's well with my soul (amen), oh yeah, amen

It's well with my soul (amen), oh, oh

It is well with my soul (amen)

My soul, yeah, amen

You are not here to suffer

You're here to remember

The soul that you are

And all the emotion and thought that you will feel and think

In between the beginning and the end

Of this one precious life

Amen

I love how the song captures two timeless Truths: "This too shall pass" and that "It's well with your soul." You may feel that you are in Hell right now, but your soul is always in Heaven, right now, and right here. The entire purpose of spiritual practice is to never leave this place of total peace, joy, love, bliss, and serenity.

I love the first verse, which suggests that it is the part of us that loves us the most that gives us the experience that we are in, in order to guide us deeper within.

My favourite lines are: "You are not here to suffer, You're here to remember, The soul that you are, The light that you're here to shine." These really resonated deeply with me today.

Everwood said "If you're feeling frightened about what comes next, don't be. Embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you places. Be brave as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path toward happiness; don't waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each moment, as it comes, because you'll never get another one quite like it. And if you should ever look up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart where your hope lives. You'll find your way again."

Enjoy the song, and I hope that you find something in it that resonates with you.

Namaste.

Sending you love, light, and blessings brothers.
