The best things in life aren't things. Truly. Here are some more musings...


The human condition

Marilyn Monroe on the human condition: “I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as Hell don't deserve me at my best.” She was one of us; a human being.


It's hard not to like Albert Einstein's insolent quote “Two things are infinite: The Universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the Universe.”


'Heaven' and 'Hell' are experiences on this Earth in this lifetime. Mae West concurred, saying “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”


On 'the crazy ones': Steve Jobs wrote “Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

The spiritual path leads you back to your soul


On reading and learning

This quote is so true “A room without books is like a body without a soul” (Marcus Tullius Cicero).


I love reading, but I can't help but love this Frank Zappa quote “So many books, so little time.”


Mahatma Gandhi said "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”


Philosophy

This quote by Mahatma Gandhi nails my whole philosophy “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Robert Frost totally gets it, saying “In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.” This invocates the principles of the spiritual axiom "All is well."


Living from your authentic Self

Mark Twain reminds us of the beauty of living from our authentic Selves “If you tell the Truth, you don't have to remember anything.”


I love Oscar Wilde and have read all of his works several times. I love his quote

“Be your Self; everyone else is already taken.”


Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”


Andre Gide said “It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.”


Friendship

On friendship, Elbert Hubbard said “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.” C. S. Lewis said “Friendship ... is born at the moment when one man says to another "What! You too? I thought that no one but myself .” Albert Camus, the spiritual Existentialist expresses the nature of Deep Coaching as “Don’t walk in front of me… I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me… I may not lead. Walk beside me… Just be my friend.”


I always thought that this quote was from Dr Seuss, but apparently it's from Bernard M. Baruch, FDR's presidential advisor “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” However, this one is from Dr Seuss for sure “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”


Maya Angelou said that “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

I have a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Cambridge; a Master's Degree in Philosophy from Trinity College, Cambridge; a PhD Doctorate in Scientific Research from University College London (UCL); a Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London and have been a doctor and reconstructive trauma and cancer surgeon in London for 20 years. I have a number of other higher qualifications in science and surgery. I have published over 50 peer reviewed PubMed cited scientific journal articles, have been an associate editor and frequent scientific faculty member, and am the author of several scientific books. I have been awarded my Diploma in Transformative Life Coaching in London, which has International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accreditation, as well as the UK Association for Coaching (AC), and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). I have been on my own transformative journey full time for over five years and I am ready to be your guide to you finding out who you really are and how the world works.
