Inner Knowing

Updated: May 4

Franz Kafka wrote “You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” What did he mean by this? Kafka’s quote relates to the difference between our inner knowing and our ego’s habitual thinking. Let me explain...

Franz Kafka

I have already written an article about ‘Wisdom and Truth’, and also an article on the moment to moment choice from a place of total presence of ‘What Would Love do Now?

Let’s take it one step further... An inner knowing does take into account the learnings from these two articles. But an inner knowing does not even need to make decisions. Decisions, and the need to make them, are fabrications from your habitual thinking. An inner knowing is like breathing – you don’t need to think about it. It’s a flow state that always delivers the optimal result. Even if it doesn’t, it works like a GPS, recalculating the course forward at every moment, even if you take a wrong turn. Your soul knows automatically what to do.

Franz Kafka

So it’s good news – the inner knowing will safely take you through the 'Valley of the Shadow of Death' that is life right now in our dysfunctional Dystopian world. An inner knowing, which very few people have, allows people to do very well over time. They have a trust and deep abiding Faith in their own sense of knowing; their wisdom within. It's the one true indicator of success in life. It's all we need to live a life of deep meaning, purpose, and joy. It's not anyone's fault that most people don't know this, it's simply societal conditioning that the answers are always outside of ourselves: They are not. We must look within. The more we look within, the more we see. Our perception shifts and the veil of illusion disppears. Life gets better one moment at a time. Those asleep people always need external validation for their decisions. The deeper mind is constantly whispering words of guidance that we need to tune into. It feels like being 'on-track'; it feels like bliss. Wisdom never leaves us: We simply tune out. Yet it is always clear. It comes disguised as common-sense, but in reality it is extremely uncommon in usage.

As Mark Twain wrote "Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts or happenings. It consist mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever flowing through one's head."

Wisdom is a feeling. Jack Cornfield wrote that "The great heart of a Buddha is within you. You simply need to get in tune with your inner Buddha.

If you think you are faced with a choice to make, take a pause, don't react. Be silent, observe, reconvene, 'lean away', meditate, and the answer will already be there waiting for you in the stillness and silence. It will feel right. And the decision (which is fear-based) falls away. There is no such thing as a decision. This is the domain of Enlightened BEings with enormous Real Personal Power. This is to invoke your 'God-Mode', and get into a flow state. You will find your Self achieving limitless possibility. As Kafka said, the world "Will roll in ecstasy at your feet". This is in stark contrast to the ego's habitual thinking, which reacts and makes hasty wrong decisions from 'Mount Stupid'. Ignore the loud, brash voice of your ego: Empty kettles make the most noise.

As Michael Neill wrote "If you want to, do. If you don't want to, don't." Decisions are only the difficult things we see when we drop out of the flow of our inner knowing and get caught back up in our habitual thinking. Neill continued "The number of reasons we have for doing something is inversely proportional to how much we actually want to do it."

As the spiritual Master William Shakespeare said "Truth is Truth to the end of reckoning." And the Bard did pretty well didn't he? Trust your Self...

Namaste.

Sending you love, light, and blessings brothers.
